Once a year, students from grade 4 to grade 10 will participate in teams made up of students from around the world. This three-week team project poses an umbrella question focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Goals for 2030. The umbrella question is further broken down into five separate smaller questions focusing on ethical thinking, systems thinking, creative thinking, critical thinking, and problem solving. The teamwork is done online culminating in a final presentation to an international panel of adjudicators.
Students propose different societies for student membership and participation. Societies are led by student chairperson and a teacher supervisor. These societies are completely student initiated and driven.
Students will have the opportunity to participate (cost not included) in both national and international trips. No trips have been organised as the pandemic continues to prevail. National trips will be organised for students from grade 4 upwards and international trips for grade 10 upwards.
E-sports will feature prominently at IVA School, and in 2021 students can join teams playing Fortnite and all Fall Guys. Students will be invited to suggest teams for other games.
